Job Description:
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Works closely with MassGREEN entities primarily the GCC Director of Workforce Development and the MassGREEN N. Tier Regional Coordinating Team, but including the MassGREEN Project Director and MassGREEN state-wide committees and staff, for the purpose of developing, setting up and implementing a menu and schedule of several energy efficiency training courses to constitute the MassGREEN N. Tier Regional Training Center. THE DEPARTMENT: Community Education at GCC provides continuing education and work-related skills training for a variety of professions and vocations. Topics include alternative energy, art, business, computers, crafts, dance, finance, and trades. Workshops are scheduled throughout the year, days, evenings, and on weekends. The Workforce Development Office within Community Education works with community businesses and organizations using open enrollment workshops, custom designed contracted training and workforce training grants to help prepare individual workers and employees to gain stronger work-related skills to benefit themselves as well as regional employers. Recently, the WFD Office oversaw the Sustainable Practices in Construction grant and beginning this Fall, the MassGREEN grant as a Regional Training Center for this state-wide system led by STCC. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Attend selected state-wide meetings to develop and deliver energy efficient training; Schedule and coordinate training at Franklin, Hampshire and N. Central Worcester training sites; Assist training vendors in site set-up and contract oversight; Oversee registrations for workshops; Arrange for supplies and equipment; Assist with assessment of N. Tier training needs; Assist with marketing, outreach and recruitment of workshop participants; Assist with data collection and reporting; Assist with hiring and oversight of instructors.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - A.A. Degree
- Hold valid driver's license and own reliable car
- Ability to work non-traditional work hours - late afternoon's, evenings, weekends.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND APTITUDES: - Knowledge of and experience with energy efficiency principles and applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Skilled in project management, organization of tasks and responsive follow-through
- Experience as a liaison between multiple businesses and organizations
- Proficient with MS Office applications and internet
- Basic graphic design experience using MS Word, PowerPoint and Publisher
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Minimum 2 years experience in renewable energy and energy efficiency
- Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently accomplish multiple tasks with multiple organizations.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Cell phone and laptop provided. Shared work stations provided at both GCC and MWCC.
25 hours/week, $22.65/hour, benefitted 3 year grant position, contract renewed annually, budgeted travel amount for travel from main workstation to training sites and meetings.
